Return & Refund Policy

Effective Date: January 1, 2026

At Kurt Generators, we take pride in manufacturing robust, high-quality diesel generator sets. Due to the industrial nature, size, and shipping logistics of our heavy machinery, our return and refund policy is strictly structured to handle manufacturing defects and shipping damages. Please read this policy carefully before placing an order.

Note: All generators undergo rigorous factory load testing before dispatch. Standard "change of mind" returns are generally not accepted for industrial heavy machinery.

1. Order Cancellations

Cancellations are only accepted under the following conditions:

  • Before Production: If your order has not yet entered the production or assembly phase, you may cancel it for a full refund minus any transaction fees.
  • During Production: Orders cancelled after production has begun may be subject to a restocking or material fee of up to 30% of the order value.
  • After Dispatch: Once the generator has left our facility in Weifang, the order cannot be cancelled.

2. Shipping Damage

It is crucial that you inspect the generator immediately upon arrival at the destination port or your facility.

  • If you notice any visible damage to the packaging or the unit itself, you must note this on the Bill of Lading (BOL) or delivery receipt before signing.
  • Take clear, detailed photographs of the damage from multiple angles.
  • Report the damage to us within 48 hours of receipt by emailing contact@diesel-engine.co.
  • We will work with the freight carrier to file a claim and arrange for replacement parts, repair, or replacement of the unit depending on the severity of the damage.

3. Manufacturing Defects & Warranty Claims

Our generators come with a standard factory warranty (typically 1 year or 1000 running hours, whichever comes first). If you believe your generator has a manufacturing defect:

  • Do not attempt to return the heavy machinery. Instead, contact our technical support team immediately.
  • Provide a detailed description of the issue, along with photos, videos, and engine serial numbers.
  • If our engineers determine that the issue is due to a factory defect, we will dispatch replacement parts free of charge. In certain regions, we may also provide technical guidance or arrange for a local technician to assist with the repair.
  • Returns of the entire unit are only authorized in the rare event of a catastrophic factory failure that cannot be remedied with replacement parts, at our sole discretion.

4. Non-Returnable Items

The following are strictly non-returnable and non-refundable:

  • Custom-built or highly modified generator sets tailored to specific client requirements.
  • Consumable parts (e.g., filters, belts, oil) that have been used.
  • Generators that have been incorrectly installed, misused, neglected, or altered by the customer or unauthorized third parties.

5. Return Process (If Authorized)

If a return is explicitly authorized in writing by Kurt Generators:

  • You will be issued a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number.
  • The equipment must be securely crated and prepared for freight shipping, matching the original packaging standards.
  • Unless the return is due to an irreparable manufacturing defect, the customer is responsible for all return freight charges, customs duties, and a 20% restocking fee.
